Well I had a crack at some smoke shots today, I ended up with a few I was happy with. I would have liked to get some more but after about 30 shots there was more smoke coming out of the old Broncolor C70 I was using than there was coming off the incense.

This shot has had no PP at all it has just been resized and had the watermark added.

And here is the smoke I didn't want to see.

So nobody is liking the smoke shots then hey, oh well.

Here is one last one. this one wasn't what I was looking for straight out of the camera so I played with it in Lightroom a bit. The exposure was reduced by 0.63, the point curve was changed to strong contrast and lens vignetting was added at -100 with a midpoint of 0.

They are quite funky. How do you do these?

It is just the smoke from an incense stick, the photo was taken using an off camera flash directly to the right of the smoke and the white balance on the camera was set to tungsten which made the smoke look blue.

I enjoy smoke shots, have done many of them myself. My favorites are when the smoke interacts with itself, as was done in shot 4.
