Outstanding job by a great young pilot from Pennsylvania!
Can't add anything else to this... the picture is worth 10,000 words!
If you don't think our military pilots earn their pay, you need to take
a look at this picture.

This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission.
The pilot is a PA National Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life.
Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the ass end of a
chopper down on the roof top of a shack, on a steep mountain cliff, and hold
it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear. If this does not impress
you... nothing ever will.
God Bless our military.

These are great. The kind of info you'd rather not know if you're on the plane that's landing on one of those strips.

nice ... reminds me of a time i took united back to ohare from KCI ... literally no sooner did we land it was instant brakes & reverse thrust (if you fly you know this isnt normal) then we sweeeeeeeeerve onto another runway that runs parallel to the one we just landed in which is WEIRD ha.

well i was on the left of the plane, we swerved to the right so im looking out the window thinking WTF is goin on? ... we go about 100yds and then swerve back onto the runway we just landed on and while we are doing this A PLANE IS ONLY 100' IN THE AIR AS WE TURN BACK UNDER IT.

they had us land on a runway that HAD A PLANE SITTING ON IT !

I whole-heartely agree with your sentiment but your caption is incorrect:

The landing is real but they were transferring captives .. not rescuing wounded.

Dang it. I saw this one on Snopes too.

Still, damned fine flying. Seeing the other shot off Greenland (referenced by the OP above) I have to think that setting the helicopter's butt down while holding the nose up is something they practice.

Aren't there guys who land jet aircraft on moving ships every day?
