So im just about to get mu wid angle lens, and a set of good gnd filters.....
however, i was wondering about this scenario, say there is something that is blocking the horizon, like a sky scraper......

here is a city that i made on photoshop! as you can see the skyscraper would go in the gnd filter...and wouldnt it get darker too? what do you do about these kind of scenarios?

That is a fine diagram! Congratulations! I probably would take two shots of the same subject and then use a mask in PS to add the building on top of the ND grad filtered version.

Oh i see. So you'd take one with the filter and then one without? Thanks :-)

Called blending exposure
Good luck

You can use GND as well, even the building will be darker then others but you can lighten it or use level and it will be fine, also Shadow/highlight option in photoshop works like a charm, give it a try
