Bald Eagles

OK, this is my first posted photo here. I took this the other day north of Alton, IL. The eagles winter here, and I must have seen no fewer than about 50 in a few hours. This is one of the first that I looked at when I got home... hopefully there are more that are just as good! Any comments are welcomed and appreciated.

It looks like a good shot but the attached image is a tad on the small side to really see anything in detail.

Now comes the envious part. It must be really nice to see these in the wild in such abundance.

I just uploaded a larger one...refresh and you should see it. I have lived here in the St Louis area all my life, and this is the first time that I have ever taken the time to go see the eagles. I was amazed at how close I could get. That shot was taken about 20 yards from that tree with a 100-400L at about 300mm.

Nice stuff! I do love eagles.

I've gotten several pics of eagles around here, but all have been by chance encounters. Supposedly there's a bunch that live about an hour away - one day I'll go looking for them when I get the chance.

Not at all. I only resized in CS as I have a new puppy that has been taking up most of my non-camera time:D .
