I'm looking at a mod for my flash bracket - thinking about adding a quick release plate on it. Came across this adapter - the 323 RC plate adapter (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/cache/off/pid/3266?livid=107&idx=116). I just want to make sure the plate is compatible with my 488RC2 ballhead one, because I read a review on Adorama (http://www.adorama.com/BG3299.html#ProductReviews) where someone said it doesn't work with other QR 3157 mounts (last review), but the second last review reads to me like it does work with other RC2 heads. On the Manfrotto site they refer to the plate that fixes to the camera as 200PL for both the 323 and the 488, so I'm thinking it'll be right, but want some assurance.

The 323 is apparently a new identification (there have been many ID changes by Manfrotto recently) for the adapter I've used for years. It, and the QR plate, are totally interchangeable with most ...RC2 heads and accessories.
There was a old design of the RC2 QR plate that does not fit the current heads and adapters, but a little work with a file (cutting out the front corners) makes the old QR plates compatible with the current equipment.

Anything current RC2 should work fine with anything else thats RC2 compliant.
