Before I start with the photos I must be honest, I am a Nikon shooter, however I shoot in a group of photographers where we are half / half, Nikon / Canon that is. My shooting partner here in Queensland is a Canon shooter through and through and whilst we have the occasional dig we are best mates. I hold no grudges about the gear anyone uses, I just like the results that come from said gear.

I stumbled upon this forum and could not believe just how much content and talent there is here. I hope that some feel like imparting some of your extensive knowledge. So I hope that I am not posting out of place being a non-Canon user, if so just let me know.

Here are some shots from the recent Ipswich round (round 7 that is) of the Australian V8 Supercars series. It was a great weekend overall with minimal accidents which was good for the officials and competitors alike.

All shots are with a Nikon D200, all zoomed shots with a Sigma 120-300f2.8 Lens with a 1.4TC attached, all pit or wide shots with the venerable 18-70 f3.5-4.5 old D70 kit lens.

Hi Brett and welcome to POTN...

Brilliant work my friend. Your images really show how "day glo" are the graphics on race cars.

The shunt in #1 is terrific!

Brett nice work. Welcome to POTN. I shot my last race next to a Nikon shooter. You'll find that it really don't matter to most folks around here. Pull up a key board and stay a while.

Well done on capturing the orange of the HRT and Triple8 cars!!

That is usually Mission Impossible - all mine turn out red!

Hi Brett,
I shoot both systems and love them both, bit bizarre I know ,but it just kinda happened that way as stuff became available.
Really love your work,as someone else mentioned ,there is great vibrancy and colour, with plenty of action, and the shutter speeds are spot on.
The Sigi is a great bit of kit ,not that I have one,but the kit lens is anything but ,a real good lens, mine got dropped recently and the D70S ,ended in tears for both parties, though the body still works in manual settings.
To me it's not about what gear you use,and what make, but results and enjoyment.
Welcome,
Pons
