This was my first time shooting motorsports, and I'm probably the still under 600 shots with my new XSi. I tried to only post up the ones I shot on either manual, or shutter priority, but one or2 may have been shot on sports. Tough keeping them all seperated.

Any feedback is appreciated.

the compositions are not bad. the colors look a little washed out to me though.
I am not sure why you would attempt to shoot m'sports in sports mode. Shoot M or TV.
Not a bad start, but try slowing your shutter speed down, they look frozen in time. Start with a shutter speed of 1/125 and work you way down from there as your technique progresses.

Take a look at the threads in this sticky (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=151056). there is a lot of good info.

Okay, thats what I thought. I started shooting in sports because I thought it would be the safest bet for my low skill level. Later on I shot in M and in TV with the speeds around 125 or 160 and tried to get panning shots. A couple looked really cool, but the subject was still a little blurry.

Thanks for the advice.

My opinion only: Nothing really distinct about your shots. I couldn't see the EXIF data so I really can't evaluate the numbers.

As Jamie said above, try a slower shutter speed and experiment with panning your shots which could help your subject matter be more significant.

Keep at it!
