From last year, dont think I ever posted it in here.
Its a small, 4-5mm long, Campsicnemus curviceps.
Just a bit cropped and levels adjusted.
I really like the evil movie-poster look of this one, with the shadow it casts in front (thanks to the flash not reaching the bottom with that lens on).

Very nice, I would prefere more dof.

Very nice, I would prefere more dof.
Not possible even with my compact cameras 1/2.5" sensor.
The fly is very very small so the magnification is very high, this is the result of that. I like it though, short DOF gives more depth to the picture and more exciting background...in my opinion that is.
Thanks for the comment :)

EDIT: Or well, F6.3 here so could have gone down to F8, but its not my style shooting with longest possible DOF.

Good one- does have an air of mischeviousness about it :)

Yes, I like this too, its 'different'. Great detail with the eyes. It certainly looks as if its half reared up ready to bite someone (or something) lol. Very atomospheric shot and I like it a lot.

Yeah this is with the DCR-250, full magnification (full tele on my S3 that is).
Cool, I see you have a S3 too. We get much for the money with this setup for sure, at least for macroshooting.

Thanks all of you, I really like this myself since its quite unique I believe.
Got some others of these dipteras on the same spot and they all have totally different looks with background and lighting and such.
