View Full Version : My first try at Water Drops..

I got bored late at nite a few weeks ago and decided to give this a try, i used food coloring for the color on the water, my on camera flash since i dont have an external flash. CC is welcome, i had fun trying this, i need to try some more another time.

They are ALL very VERY COOL.

how many shots did you have to make to get the results? BTW, those are coloured water right??

Thanx for the comments guys, sorry it took long to reply.

Well i took this ones with the canon 28-80mm cause i didnt have a macro lens back then.

I think after 20 shots i started getting this ones, the hardest part was trying to focus on the drop cause i was leaning my hand against something to keep it steady and drop the waterdrops in the same spot over and over again. I need to make some kind of fixture to drop the water next time.

Your focus is amazing in these shots (except the last one) - very impressive. My favorite is easily the first one.

Were you shooting in bursts? Or just singles?

Thanks, i'll take some pictures of the set up when i'll try it again and send them to you or share them with everyone else if they want, is really nothing special, i've seen set up here that are really good, mine is probably the most ghetto one lol.

Outstanding..I have tried this in the past and I can assure you it takes a while to get the timing down,But worth it in the end... Very well done...Oh and share the method with everyone..
