Thinking about parting ways with my film body

Hey all, its been a while since I have posted here, but that don't mean I have not been shooting :DHowever, I am pretty much 100% digital now. I have an Elan 7n that has been loaded with provia 400F film. Its half shot and been sitting in the camera for about 2 years. The camera has been sitting around collecting dust most of the time. Part of the problem is, processing. I used to drop my E-6 slides (and even kodachrome) off at the supermarket with a fuji kiosk and a week or two (longer for the kodachrome, obviously). The pricing was pretty good but then I would usualy digitize them with a sub-par scanner. Now the kiosk are gone which leaves places like wolf / ritz camera and they cost like 3 times as much.I could shoot monochrome (tri-x is fun) and process the stuff my self (also fun!) but getting it scanned don't work so well (lousy scanner that can't handle the film).The camera is in great shape, but its not getting any use. I am bouncing the idea around if I should sell it. I got this baby 2nd hand and it was pretty much flawless. I mean if Its going to cost a fortune to get film processed that I am just going to digitize anyway, and I already have a pair of digital cameras, should I even hang on to the Elan 7n?Im interested to hear everyones thoughts. Im obviously a bit connected to this camera :)

You probably won't get enough for it to make it worth selling. Like BOSS said, start a collection!

I also have the Elan 7. Not sure I could even score $25 for it. So I either donate it to a school, keep it with all the other old junk I have or toss it in the river to become a treasured artifact located 2003 years from now.

The film Eos cameras aren't worth selling any more - you'll get almost nothing for it, and I bet when you bought it, the cost wasn't far off a 40D!

I bought my Eos 100 ( original Elan) in 1995 for £600 - a fortune then, less so now, but nevertheless, it was and still is a cherished possession - and I might well shoot film again...one day. i won't sell it for the £5-10 it would get on eBay. I'll keep it, well wrapped and battery removed, and when I need it - I might even be able to find where I put it...! but it is still mine, and I still want it.

I'm itching to try film... Yes, I know it would be going backward but I love the idea of a darkroom. It just seems artistic and romantic.. It's been rattling around in my head for a couple of years.. I'll get there eventually. Good to know that when I do I can pick up top notch kit for bottom barrel prices..

finish the roll of film off, find a place that can process the film with in your budget and keep the camera.

Actualy I bought the camera 2nd hand of some on from FM. Really good shape, I think I paid maybe 150 for it, I can't even remember

I sold my EOS10 body recently and it wasnt worth it, didnt even get $40 for it but then i hadnt used it in years so no point having it laying around going to waste.

I'd keep it. You wouldn't get much for it and you never know when it might be useful to have an old body around ;-)

And in 45 or 50 years it maybe worth $50!!! Of course that's inflation adjusted pricing. Anyone have a couple flash cubes I could use?

Funny I should stumble on this tonight. I have been considering picking up an EOS film body. I love shooting film. :)
