Have you ever seen The Libertines,Babyshambles or Pete Doherty Live ? have you ever met Pete and spoke to him ? or do you think he is a waste of space because he takes drugs .

Get out the house,, off your PC,, and start going to concerts... then tell me what a waste of space he is...

I like some of his solo stuff. He is very talented but i have to agree, as a person he is a waste of space,
Someone with this talent should not be trying to destroy himself. Thats not normal.
Im not against anyone taking drugs (other than my kids) and would not judge anyone because of it but if it makes you act like a prat then why do it?
And the way he treats others around him when he is either coked up or drunk is a disgrace.
IMHO of course.

Love the shots though. Especially the first. classic pose and very well taken. The pistols are all old men now but still get me excited (no, never been a punk, just love the music).

Great shots, do you reckon that bottle is full of cold tea then ? :)

Maybe not "normal", but the recent history of music is littered with talented people who've ended up the same way - Joplin, Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain etc etc, the list is almost endless. Sometimes intensely talented people just seem to have other personality flaws. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long and all that other Blade Runner guff ;)

And agree about Doherty, I think he's extremely talented. Like Babyshambles but could never get away with The Libertines though, best description I read of them was something along the lines of sounds like a fight at 2am in a North London Taxi Cab office, recorded on a dictaphone.

Yeah, the list of people with a lot of talent who go and through it all away is a long one.
Personally i dont have any respect or sympathy for people that destroy themselves in public. And with them being in the public eye and influencing "the kids" then i for one am sort of glad they have gone.
Durgs and music dont have to go hand in hand and a lot of very talented musicicnas dont behave this way.

Sorry, thats gone way off topic but i see nothing to idolise in the people you have metioned other than the great music they left behind.

:-p

Seem to have struck a raw nerve

I meant he is ruining his life with all the drug taking along with Amy Whinehouse . Not saying their not talented songwriting talent and good musicians

I do get out the house and go to gigs just not as many as you :D:D:D

BTW Great pics as always

When 'regular' people destroy themselves and others with their dysfunctional behavior we condemn them without a thought, but when they are celebrities it is almost treated like a badge of honor. In Rap, even shooting others is considered "normal" behavior. It all seems to have started with Elvis Presley doing huge amounts of drugs and still being treated like "The King"! I find it all very disgusting! But most of all I don't want my children to see others treating these self indulged egotistical perverted drug addicts as models of good or acceptable behavior. I don't want my daughter to come to believe that getting pregnant without being married is "the norm" and that going into rehab every year is the way to deal with life! Sorry, but I do judge people by their dysfunctional behavior and can't understand the reticence in others to be openly critical ... talent doesn't excuse bad behavior any more than money does.

Pictures are nice but it would be nice to see more linked in including full stage shots.
