Hi there,
I've a problem with viewing my pics made by my 10D. When I look at them in PS CS : no problem. Colors look OK. When I look at them in acdsee, they look washed out.
10D is in adobe RGB mode. Color management is enabled in Acdsee .
I've also tried to convert to sRGB my pics in PS CS and then look at them in acdsee.
The problem is always the same : washed out in acdsee 7
Help please

I didn't think that ACDSee was color managed? Typically, if you view AdobeRGB images in a non color managed application they look washed out. If you convert them to sRGB first, they should look fine. What are your PS CS defaults, especially your Working Space?

I don't have ACDSee, but maybe some tips: Did you save your images with ICC profile? If not, ACDSee might assume they're in a different profile than they really are. How exactly did you setup colour management in ACDSee? Do you have a monitor profile set in Windows, Photoshop and ACDSee?

MikeG, what are your color management settings?

Scott,
Acdsee 7 now supports color management.
For the others,
My 10D is set to Adobe RGB. When I open files in PSCS, they look OK. In PS, when I go to Menu - Image - Convert to profile , I can see "source space profile : Adobe =RGB(1998 )" then I cancel the conversion. I adjust all the levels, image distortion, noise, ... then I save the file with a new name and I make sure "ICC Profile: Adobe RGB" is checkmarked.
After that, I look at the new file with acdsee 7 and it looks washed out.
Same applies to the original file straight from the camera.
About the default color space in photoshop, it was set to North america general purpose defaults (means sRGB). I've tried to change to Europe prepress default (means adobe RBG 1998 ) and the picture is always opened correctly...
Thanks for your help,
MikeG

Try converting the image to sRGB and save under a new name. In PS both images should be very very close to identical. Now compare them in ACDSee. If the sRGB looks fine but the Adobe RGB looks washed out then I'd think that you have an issue with ACDSee's color management.

Scottes,
I've tried to compare both modes in acdsee 7 but it really seems that ACDSEE has problem with displaying Adobe RGB files. I doublechecked all the settings in acdsee and everything is correct.
So I think I'll have to wait the next release...
Thanks anyway for your help

Mikeg, you need to re-check your color management settings in ACDSee. It works fine for me. Under color management, I have everything checked Under "enable" and "input". Under "output" you should only check "basic color management" checked. (unless you want to proof a print job).
