Hello all,

I am new to the program and trying to get a grip on what it can and cannot do. One of my goals is to be able to use the program to display 100s of photos from trips and events without having to do each picture individually. My inital impression is that this may be a daunting exercise. Has anyone developed a file uploader in which you can point to a folder containing all your photos and have it upload all photos with EXIF and/or IPTC data being corresponded to the database? I am using v1.22

This seems like a great program and I am looking forward to working with it. Thank you for your time :)

I wish I could help as I am attempting the same thing. I have hundreds if not thousands of photos of Family and Trips that I am trying to put in the gallery.

Version 1.22 does not support EXIF. Update to 1.5RC4 is recommended.

If you need to upload lots of photos use ftp to upload originals to UPLOAD folder and then proceed from EE's upload page "Step 2".

Pekka,

Thanks for the reply. I am going through the steps of install and I am unsure of which imagemagic to download/install.

Here are the server facts:
OS = Linux
Apache version = 1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP version = 4.3.10
MySQL version = 4.0.22-standard

Thank you so much!

Drew

On this server I use version 6.0.2 but it does not really offer anything significant compared to version 5.x.

I guess I didnt really ask the question correctly, sorry.

What I was trying to ask was do i just install the php folder under directories? Or do I install the Unix Source, or Linux RPM, or Linux Source RPM under distribution type?

I guess I need a little hand holding

Thanks
Drew

1st choice is Unix Source
2nd choice is RPM

Both methods probably complain about libjpg or libpng files. In that case goole for those. Or see if these are helpful (worked on my server):
