I think I am going to buy a 5D or 5D update or something pretty soon. I will
wait a couple of months after Photokena or whatever it's called to see
if an update is on the horizon and then make a decision. My only knock
on the present incarnation of the 5D is: it does not have sensor cleaning
technology which my 40D has. That being said the sensor cleaning on
the 40d ain't worth s--t. My 40D is 4 months old and has dust that the
shaker cannot dislodge. I am waiting for a foot blower and E2 kit to
clean the sensor. I am thinking I can clean a 5D sensor just as easily
as I can clean the sensor on my 40D so I may just as well join the FF
croud. I have great lenses for the FF body. I have the 17-40 4L and
the 24-105 4L which would work great on a FF body. I also have
a 70-300 IS I don't know the Fstop without looking but you do. Anyway,
it is the current Canon EF IS you know which one. I think these lenses
would work great on A FF body.

James, sounds like you have made your decision. If there is nothing the 5D lacks I would get it now, why wait. It is at a great price at the moment.

I am waitig for Canon to include a coupon worth 10 hrs. of hot model time
for photo shoots with the 5D, you know, a sort of break in and get to know
your "body" session.

Wait a month, it's sensless to buy a 5D right now. Go get the 10-22 for your 40 D and sell it if/when i new 5D comes out.

Now that is thinking "outloud" if I have ever seen it... :D

The market will be flooded with used 5D's in a month or so, that's when you can find a bargain.

That is, unless the new one is a flop. If there is some crazy issue, like the focus issue with the 1D MkIII then folks will likely want to hold on to their older 5D's. I'm really eager to see what they are going to bring to the table next but I don't want to get rid of my 5D until I can assure that the new one is truly better.
