I am about to crackbecause of this 5D delay.

I am starting to come to my senses. If Canon does not release the 5D by the end of October, me think me will buy a 1D MKIII and say goodbye to FF.

I am after image quality and am into taking landscape /nature photos. I realy don't need the speed. I wonder if I should get the 40D instead of the 1D but I am worried about IQ.

From what I see there will be about $1000 difference between the 5d MK II and the 1D MK III.

My God I am so lost. This will be my first DSLR and for a while too as I just bought a house and am getting married in October. I just don't want that remorse I get when I look at my 70-200 f/4 IS and wished I had bought a F/2.8 IS...

What do you guys recommend?

Forgot to mention I cannot break $4k MAX. I have no clue what that N will cost. That is a good sign though, and hopefully this new N will drop the 1D even lower.

I don't buy used cameras or any equipment used, sry. At $2.2K new Canon can forget about me buying new.

I think I will settle for whatever comes up in the next months. Maybe a nice 50D since it is not that expensive.
