View Full Version : Online Calendar Printing

I have been experimenting with getting calendars printed online using images I have uploaded. These are for use as gifts to my family and friends so don't need to be at the highest end of the printing scale but I want them to look decent. I have tried Ofoto and Snapfish and not been too impressed by either of them. The print quality looked like they had played with the sharpening too much and the colors were a little washed out.

I have just looked at www.digi-labs.net who have some software to download to create the calendar at home before uploading it. Has anyone had any experience of them? Are there any other online service providers that people have good things to tell about?

All good or bad news welcome.

Thanks

i went through a few and tried the local kinkos store also
kinkos was the best but to my eye they were not as good as i want
i now use the calandar commandar program and epson enhanced matt paper and print on my epson 2200
i charge 5.00 a page for doing it for others and do not get many takers based on price

I ordered several calenders from Photoworks.com as X-mas gifts last Nov. They were OK, I guess. I did all my post-processing in Photoshop CS and the images looked great. The colors were washed-out a little in the calender and some minor bleeding occurred (the weird sharpening look that this thread starter mentioned?), but I think that may be mostly due to the paper that the calender was printed on. Not sure how Photoworks manages color, so I really can't say for sure...

Kinkos and most of its competitors use a color laser printer to do calendars. To me, the print quality is mediocre. If you are only trying to print ten or so, then doing it with a first-class inkjet on good paper will get very nice results.

I wanted to do that for xmas presents last year, but I couldn't find a place that'd do them at all. If anyone finds a good place i'd love to hear about it, and if they ship to New Zealand, even better.
