Oki doki......

I need a bag that will fit: wallet, keys, phone, small multitool, tyre levers, spare tubes (2x), 3L hydration pack, MP3 player (http://www.gadgetsblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/pmp.jpg), camera (Canon G9) (http://www.letsgodigital.org/images/artikelen/6/canon-g9.jpg), lens adapter for camera (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/adapters/CanonG7/G7%20adapter180.jpg), various filters, a flash. I do have a Lowepro 100AW (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51qYV5hG9QL._SL500_AA280_.jpg) currently which is a great fit for the G9 and lens adaptor. Being able to fit the 100AW into the bag would be a massive +. The 100AW is actually quite small, compare the size of the zipper tag (2-3cm long) to the bag and you'll get the idea. And preferably space for 1-2 lenses. Though I don't actually have any lenses at the moment, just want to future proof a little in case I ever go down the DSLR track.

It would be good also if I could fit a light jumper or jacket in as well!

Obviously the smaller the better.. But realistically the bag is going to be quite large if it's holding all this ****.

Money (http://weblogs.cltv.com/news/local/chicago/Money%20stacks.jpg) isn't really an issue.

I had the same problem too. I have found two working solutions.

First- I turned my Arc'Teryx Bora 65 backpack into a camera back by using domke inserts.

Sec- I got a ThinkTank Change up for the camera and used my Camel Back 3L pack for my other gear. The Think Tank sat just at the right spot (lower back) and Camel back fit just on top, as if it was made that way.

If its a long hike, like two days I use the Arc'Teryx, for sort day hikes opt 2 works best.

I think there is a camera specific bag out there WITH hydration? Anyone know which one it is? Is there more than one? I'd like a "dedicated" camera section, i.e. a section that is actually made for a cameras, with all the pockets and protection and what-not.

Off the top of my head, I can come up with this:

Seems like everybody else wants to keep water and camera equipment separate. You may also want to consider a decent camera pack and augmenting it with a clip/tie/strap on hydration bladder, like those available from MSR.

I wear a 3L Camelbak, and then use the Think Tank belt system for photo equipment (plus maybe an extra water bottle for a long hike - I use a lot of water hiking in 100+ degree Texas heat). I don't want camera stuff in a backpack while hiking, because then I'd never actually take any photos along the way.

I recently picked up a Camelbak "Ambush". http://www.gearzoneproducts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1931 Its a very slim military style bag which has a very durable exterior. It also has insulation for the tubing so the water doesn't get warm on the first few sips. The compartments are big enough to fit my canon G7 with adapter and filter. I can also fit keys, wallet, cellphone, 2 way radio and still have room for other things. But if you plan to ride around a lot, get the "M.U.L.E. Max Gear". http://www.gearzoneproducts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1932 That one has a slightly bigger compartment but has an added waist strap and a sternum strap, vs just a sternum strap. Another thing is there's a MOLLE system so you can strap other things on the outside of the bag. If all fails, the shoulder strap can be unclipped and store in a built in pocket and the whole bag itself can be attached to another bag.
