I'm jealous - some guys have all the luck

Got an email from an old classmate. He's been a radio journalist most of his life, then did a bit of work at a paper and worked with other things. He just got back to the Caribbean where he lives and got an offer he said he couldn't refuse. Apparently he got offered some job shooting pics for magazines and newspaper (I'm assuming primarily papers). He doesn't have a digital camera so asked me for advice (didn't know it was for a job as he has wanted to get one before). Apparently money's no object, the company pays. They're also sending him to a course in digital audio/video/photography in New York twice.

If I remember correctly this guy has never done any photography before and I can't help thinking "geesh, why doesn't this stuff happen to me??!"

Stupid Swedish papers. :(

I got into the computer field 18 years ago when I went to a distant store because the local store didn't have a cable I needed. I walked out with the cable and a job and haven't looked back since.

The fact that computers are my hobby (OK, one of them now) makes it oh so sweet.
