Hi All,

I'm new to the Forum here. I thought I could open up an intro by letting my new found photography hobby speak for itself through my gallery on Webshots. Please comment, good or bad, for I know I have a lot to learn! Any and all help will be appreciated!!

I am really glad you posted these!

They are beautiful pictures!

Did you get the telephoto lens with your A40? Did you do any tests with that lens....

Hello!

Thanks for the kind words. I have just begun in digitial photography(or any type for that matter) but listen very carefully to the wisdom of the "pros" that you find on the net! I'm really trying to develope an eye for composition instead of my usual "Point and Shoot" technique.

Yes, I purchased the Canon TC-DC52 telephoto lens a month after the A40 purchase. I experimented with the T. lens usage, but after several weeks I returned the 2.4X lens. I didn't care for the extreme Barrell Distortion at the wide angle focal point when not using the zoom. I found little use for the extra zoom range due to this lens distortion. My style makes use of a constant changing focal point, so as you may have seen at my Webshots site, I took the plunge into a high 10X Optical Zoom camera, the now discontinued Canon Pro90IS (good sale!). Although it has quirks, I love the 10 power zoom with IS (Image Stabalization)!

The A40 does an almost unbelievable job for the $$$$, but I did find I was yearning for a "super zoom" digicam that took picture taking one step further!!

Good Luck with your A40!

Ted
