Great effect but I think the lower right of the image should be cropped out. Really interesting though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think you may be right.

Nice. Too bad for that tree inthe bottom right corner. Cropping it out would lose too much of the patterns in the grass.

Here it is with the lower right tree cropped out.

I think it is better than the original. ;)

Very captivating image. I like both versions that are posted. It probably would not be as catchy if it wasn't for the designs in the grass.

Thanks. The swirls do make the shot, IMO. They must have been made by a leaf blower a short time before the shot.

Both versions are good Jim, another thing you could do on the area in the lower right, is to clone some of it out. Might take a little more time but you wouldn't have to crop as much. If you're the one who mowed the lawn like that, all I can say is you've got way to much time on your hands.

If I had too much time on my hands you'd see me with a cloning tool, not a leaf blower. If it were my lawn you would see nothing but leaves.
That was shot from the top of St. Joseph's Cathedral steeple (yes, I said the top. :) ) looking down on Aetna's front lawn. If you have been by the Cathedral in the past three months you may have seen staging going up the full height of the steeple. Big chunks of limestone have been falling off the steeple! Don't get too close!

It has a sort of Norman Rockwell quality about it - except that I don't recall Norman Rockwell using that perspective. I like it a lot.

Thanks. The perspective is a bit un-Rockwellian, I suppose. :) If there were a kid flying a kite it would be more like one of his scenes. ;)

I often wondered would we ever hear of another steeple jack in the future Jim http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
they were so unique
not so many steeples being built today
if any ? http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

I know that's not exactly what you do but you were up there
(doing repairs? no, surveying... I imagine ):)
some height it must have been
what safety measures are in place for your job
or were you just inside the steeple taking the shot ?
(are there little windows in them?) http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I was quite safe up there, Marie. :) And I even made it up there without having a heart attack. I'll post some pix later.
