So very different from your usual stuff, Charles. Definitely took me by surprise. But, I gotta say...great composition and a great shot!

It's a very nice image.
I really like color. It's in between sephia and B&W.
How did you do it?

It's a duotone or tritone. Convert to mono first. Then change to duo and select or create the scheme you want. That's it!

Great shot! I like the effect of the sepia tone very much.

The chess board looks as big as he is! And the sense of depth from that perspective seems to symbolize the depth and complexity of the game of chess. The boy looks like a very confident and skillful player, judging by his expression. Charming photo, maybe a future classic. I love it.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Those are very thoughtful observations, much past the obvious techincal details and into what I wanted more to show, even if subliminally. Very astute analysis. Either that, or we think somewhat alike.

Very refreshing Charles. I like seeing young people using their head for something more than a hat rack.
I like the thoughtful look on His face, as well as your use of "tri-tone". Nice shot! :D

I like it, good catch on the expression of the kid.
