Is it possible to fire multiple flashes off of a single cybersnyc reciever. Could you use a splitter and fire two 580exII's.

Any info would be much appreciated,
Dave

Sure, with an optical slave triggering one flash, your cybersync triggering another, and you're golden.

Do you mean the built in optical?

I don't think your flash has a built in optical slave. You can buy an optical slave for almost next to nothing from a camera store, and hook that up to one 580, let the cybersync trip the other 580, and you should be fine.

Ah ok, could you split the wire to run to both if you wanted to? Or would the voltage drop and not fire the flashes?

That part, I have no idea. Generally, if I'm using a two light setup, they're far enough apart that splitting wires isn't feasible, so I simply use a different triggering method. Indoors, an optical slave will work just fine. Ideally, you'd like to have a second cybersync reciever, and trip your flash that way too, as this will give you the most flexibility.

I'd just buy another receiver, they're cheap enough.

thats exactly what I was thinking
that way I could use two580's in a soft box, where they are only a foot or two apart, and not have to buy another reciever.
But I might anyways..LOL

The answer is yes. I just fired a 580 and an AB800 with one cybersync using a splitter.
