So I woke up early last Sunday and I decided to go out to try to get some nice shots of my car with my new DRebel. This is my favorite picture of the ones I took that morning, unfortunately it’s not as sharp as I’d like it to be.
Lens used was a 50mm f/1.8.

I kept playing with the picture in PS CS and after using a High Pass Luminosity sharpening action from the TLR Sharpening toolkit I downloaded from thelightsright.com, I ended up with this.

I think you cropped it too much. You have a beautiful blurred background that you have almost completely cut out. I think if you just cut off the top of the pic at about the height of the second street light on the left you'd have a keeper. The second pic doesn't look right tilted like that either. Nice car.

Not really to do with photography.....
I've been looking for a nice set of split-rim alloys, and I REALLY like those !
What are they called ? Do you know if they're available in the UK ?
Cheers
Gary.

Pugdaddy, thanks for the advice. I'll keep playing with it.
quickben, the wheels are Volk Racing SF Winning. They are 2 piece forged aluminum wheels imported from Japan. Mackin Industries imports them to the U.S., not sure who imports them to the U.K. but I'm sure they are available there.

great shots, but for some reason the car doesn't look in focus on the first one.
i'd like the first one better if you saw just a tad more street in front of it.
nice backdrop also

Nice shot! The lighting looks good. You might try manual focus w/tripod. Try to get the exposure in the 1+ sec range & turn the lights on with your remote for about the last 20% of the exposure. Keep it up & post some more! ;-)

I like them, but for a car photo.
I think they are a bit soft, and the background is to busy.
