Went fishing over the weekend off Redondo Pier and brought some gear along.

Like the composition..although I find his head disappears into the inky BG...maybe recover some of the blacks on him?

I agree with Flo - while this is a great candid portrait with lots of impact, the tonal merger has its price. Perhaps you could do a little pp and open up the shadows without losing detail in the highlights.

I knew there was a term for that, and I knew you were the one that used it before! Thank you for the reminder Robert.
It was the tonal merger of the shirt/background that bothered me more than the hair/background; it gives the illusion of a floating head.
Great shot otherwise, and hopefully you can seperate the subject from the background a bit.

I was thinking about this last night, but not much of a PP guru....I will see what I can do with it!!!!
I just liked the look much more than the color.
