Large Garden Spider

This is a neat spider that I found living outside my house.
I did a little reading and found out that these have been know to kill hummingbirds! Hopefully I will be able to get him on his web next time.

I do not know about humming birds, but I have put a lot of grasshoppers in their webs and watched them wrap them up. We just called them garden spiders
