I have the POTN OpTech Pro Loop Strap for my 40D.

It is a very nice strap but I don't like the "Pro Loop" connections to the camera. They are very thin and tend to get all twisted. They also seem to be the weak link that could break one day.

I am thinking of changing the connection to either the "Adjustable" or the "Swivel Hook" with "Adapt Its"

I will need to get Strap #1 with the the #11 Adapt Its or Strap #2

Has anyone tried either of these "System Connectors" from the Op/Tech website? http://www.optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=48&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=

I prefer the 3/8" web fastener (#3)

I like the Pro Loop connectors because you can attach both of them to the same side of a camera. IMO the quick-release buckles seem a more likely failure point.

I prefer the 3/8" web fastener (#3)Likewise. However I used the stock ones for ages with no signs of wear.

I had Op Techs with the #2 style connector for a number of years and despite swapping them around between different bodies (and a video camera) I couldn't kill them at all.

Other than the fact I found the strap itself to be a bit "bouncy," they were very good kit.

I've used the 3/8" web straps as well for quite a number of years with no issues. I think a rule of thumb, though, would be to simply inspect any strap attachments at regular intervals, and/or replace them if there are obvious signs of wear or fraying.
