I must be blind, but I can't find the maximum memory that the Powershot S200 can hold. Anyone have the answer or have a reccommended size.
Thanks!

Not sure what you are asking exactly but does this help?
Approximate photos per card when used in a digital camera:
8MB 16MB 32MB 64MB 128MB 192MB 256MB 1GB
1 Megapixel Camera 22 45 91 182 365 548 731 2850
2 Megapixel Camera 8 17 35 71 142 213 284 1107
3 Megapixel Camera 6 13 26 53 106 160 213 830
4 Megapixel Camera 4 8 16 32 64 96 128 499
5 Megapixel Camera 3 5 10 21 43 65 86 360
sorry the rows are all goofy! check this link

I think the answer to your question is that there is no hardware limit on the memory available to the camera. If there are CF/Microdrives to support 10 gigs the camera would accept it.. Think about scrolling through 10 gigs of pictures though.

If by memory you mean the compact flash card there is no limit. Compact flash cards have the controler built into the card. Smart media has the controler built into the device(camera) so you can only use memory as large as the controler is designed for. Since it is best to format your card in the camera, I suppose that there may be some sort of software limitation and maybe it could format a 20mb card (if there were 20mb cards) and maybee it couldn't. That would just be a matter of new firmware (software in the camera) to fix it assuming the manufacture offers new firmware. I can tell you that any compact flash card device is suposed to be able to handle all the new high capacity cards at this time. From time to time you will have a particular brand of card that will not work with a particular device but this is irrelavent of size and not too comon. Basically any card commonly avalable of any size has a 99.5% chance of working with your camera.

If you are talking about the memory inside the camera it is a fixed amount. You could open it up and solder new chips but then you probably would have firmware(and hardware) problems. Of course if you have the know how anything is possible. The chips are probably surface mount to save space though and good luck changing those.
