So here's the basics

The terem "hella" is used in norcal, it means a lot.
Apparently all the pictures are gone now.
Please help us POTN!

Slap your friend and tell him to stop saying hella.

No, seriously...they're not gone. A program like RescuePRO or any such program can try to retrieve the files from you. Just make sure that you set aside the card and DON'T USE IT until you've retrieved the pictures.

If it's a Sandisk card it comes with a photo recovery software. Not sure but remember hearing that from somewhere. Hope it helps.

A computer professional should be able to help you retrieve the photos, if you are unable to do it yourself.

Have you used the card since the accidental reformat? If not - or if you've used the card to store only a few images - there's a good chance you can recover images.

If you have a Windows machine, download and run Zero Assumption Recovery. (http://www.z-a-recovery.com/)I just tested the software on an older, frequently-used CompactFlash card, and it recovered two images that were stored in 2005. That program should take care of your problem. :)
