I have a couple of microdrives and a handful of Lexar compact flash cards. They work just fine but are generally slower.

You will love the 20D! For general shooting and landscapes the Microdrives will be fine. But once you start to knock out some bursts . . . you will most likely want something a little quicker.

I use a 4GB MD drive in the 20D and MarkII... I have found them to still be very very fast in these cameras. In the 10D they were much slower.

With the low prices of CF cards these days I'd replace the microdrive as soon as I could. The microdrive will work in your 20D, after you reformat it; but it's a mini disk drive and much more likely to fail than a solid state card.

You can get an Sandisk Extreme III for about $100 or so if you look around a little.
