Taken this afternoon as it came over the house. It caught me off guard, but luckily I had my camera with me since I was taking pictures to document my scooter restoration project. They are a bit grainy. Sorry.

Those are some of the best blimp shots I've seen. Nice work.

Nice catch! Very well done. What's up with the whiskers on the nose? Is that for grounding or static dispertion when it goes to land?

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what the ropes are for. I thought they might serve a purpose when landing.

Must've been traveling from Oshkosh WI, at least that is where I saw it last Friday. Excellent pictures.

I think its here for some event. It has been flying around the area for about 3 days now. I think it said something about NASCAR on the side at one point.

I've flown on the Goodyear blimp here on the West Coast and those ropes are used when they land. It's amazing the airship is headed toward the ground at a 45 degree angle and then about 6 people grab those ropes to tie it down!

yeah, that's the Spirit of Goodyear ship. The other two do not have the yellow line directly under the wording. Probably heading back to base in Ohio.

Carpenter it is the same Blimp that was at Oshkosh. Someone else posted a few pics of it in the Oshkosh thread. It has been flying around Chicago for about 3 days now. I think it finally left today since I have not seen it. I was a little surprised at how quickly it was able to turn.

I know it is the same one. I was just confirming Big Frost's post that is must've been the one from Oshkosh.

Here you go at her home base in Suffield, Ohio, just outside of Akron.

Driving by today and she was coming in so I stopped and got a few shots. After she stops they use the ropes to guide here to the mast that she gets anchored to. (Unedited shot) And the hanger she goes in. The mast is pulled by a tractor in and out of the hanger. (Shadows and Highlights edit)

Nice shots, I just used Spyder3 to Calibrate my laptop monitor. Now on shot 5 looks a little purple to me. Is anyone else seeing this or do I need to go back and try again.
Thanks Fedxpress
