I want 5x7 picutres, and maybe the occasional 8x10... where/how?

I just got a new A75 camera, and I wanna know how to get the size prints listed above. I do not have a photo printer, and it's not really in the budget, unless there are some cheap ones out there (I'm a nerd but printers is definetely not my area of expertise).

I was wondering how WALMART does them? You put you card in the machine? Is this crap or not? Some advice would be nice.

Also, I would like to know how to maximize image quality for the size of print I want, but I also want to know how to not overdo my images on the camera and waste space on the compact flash card (SanDisk 256mb Extreme).

PS: Off-topic.. but how many images do you think I can ROUGHLY store on the card above?

always use the highest setting on the camera so you can crop the pictures if you want. i use walgreens photo which is the same as wal marts and they come out just fine... much better then you can print at home. just take your card in and put it in the reader. then you can pick the pictures you want and print them. i would recommend having just the pictures you want prints of on the card, already cropped if necessary so you don't hog up the kiosk at the store editing your pictures while others wait for you.

i would say you will be able to fit around 100 or so pics on a 256 mb card. i don't know what mp your camera is so that is a guess based on a 4 mp camera.

The cannon cp200 is a great phot printer at about $125 - beautiful 4x6 prints

There are many great 6 colour photo printers around $100-$150. Make sure you get six colours. The ink is a problem but you can get the ink cartridges re-filled for half the price of a nw one and use it over and over. I find it un to be able to print my own photos, shaped the way I want.

I got an A75 a couple months back and I used Meijer Digital Print Station for my first set of (50) 4x6's. They all came out great, even many that appeared fuzzy on the computer screen. 29-39 cents a piece is cheaper than most any printer you can buy. Not sure how the price or quality compares on bigger prints. I've seen ads for $1 for 5x7's and $2 for 8x10, and there are always sales.

I have a Powershot S400 and I print off some prints with my Canon printer.
However, to get the best prints I go to CVS and print them off on their machine - probably similar to Walmart's or the others. They cost $.29 a print and the results are great.

Commercial printing are probably the best, they are very affordable, and most importantly, the colors are permanent and will not fade away over time!!!!!

Wrong, if you're talking about photographic prints. They'll fade over time too, especially if they're exposed to UV light. The best archival prints are available with some of the archival pigmented (not dye) inks from inkjet printers.
