Hi,
Just registered here and thought I'd share a picture:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/wadaribaba/sv1.jpg

This was taken with a Kodak Easyshare CX6200 point and shoot digital camera, where the only thing that you can really control is the flash on/off :o . The only post processing done to this picture is that I resized it.
I'm sure that there's a whole bunch of things wrong with the way this picture was taken, but I like it and thought I'd share. And, I figured it would be interesting to find out what knowledgeable photographers think of it.
Anyway, I'm planning on buying a Digital Rebel soon and really getting into the digital photography world. This is a wonderful forum with tons of info and I hope to contribute to this website in the days to come.
Thanks for looking !
-Sid

A little too much, yeah. I was trying to get the best part of the picture.

I like the sharpness of the image. The on camera flash does the job of filling in the shadows. I would have recomposed to where you had an uncluttered sky--no telephone lines.
I wish my wife would let me get one...

Yeah, I've been surprised at the quality of picture I've gotten from a VERY basic P&S camera. Cant wait to get the Rebel though :D

You mean a bike ? :D Give it time... my wife didnt care for the idea either. Now, she's even gone on a short ride with me.

Yeah, regarding the bike, my wife has seen the crashes that I have done on my road racing bike--with pedals. In my case, 600cc between my legs would be would be suicidal (don't read any sexual overtones into that...)
As far as the Digital Rebel is concerned, you will love it. It is a great entry level camera that will give you great results from your first shot. I bought the two lens Sigma (24-70, 70-300) package that can be found at any of the online suppliers and have been very happy with the results. With my freelance stuff for the newspaper and online event sales, I broke even after a month or so.
