This is a bit scary, actually. I've taken a look at the other photos uploaded and linked to at this forum, and frankly, most of them look marvellous. At least compared to most of mine. But still, I have got some pictures that I myself think are pretty good, again at least compared to most of mine. So, anyway, decided I should just try. Won't get better without critique, will I?
My sister loves posing for the camera. Sometimes her poses work, sometimes they don't. Personally, I think this one does. But do you?

Way too dark!
Not only is it rendered here too dark, there just is not much shadow detail to be gleaned from the file, because it is about 2 stops underexposed.
If you enable editing and reposting of your image, I can show you what I get out of it using PSCS3 Levels.

Yeah, this really has no context. I can't tell what I'm supposed to be thinking.

I see where you're trying to go with this. How much PP did you do to achieve the look?

It can't be brought back very easily Bob.I tried..the spot is totally on her face and arm...B&W helps with some highlight...Like the concept.

Well, I thought the contrast between lights and shadows made the mood. I could try to lighten up the shadows, of course, but this is ISO 1600 on a 400D. Going from -2 EV to 0 EV ain't pretty.
