Hello all,

Can anyone please tell me if the Metz 54MZ-3 Flash is compatible with a Canon Pro 1 camera? I've searched everywhere for an answer, but have been unable to determine whether or not it will work. The Pro 1 is NOT a digital SLR, and all the information regarding the Metz flash unit is geared towards the DSLR model cameras. Thank you for your time.

I happen to have a Metz brochure ... it lists the following flashes as being compatible with the Pro1: 54 AF-1C; 54 MZ-4i (with SCA adapter); 44 AF-4C and 28-AF-3C.

The 54 MZ-3 is not listed - perhaps it's an earlier version of the 54 MZ-4? If that's the case, I would guess that it would work with an SCA 3102 M2 adapter (see Metz home page at link below).

Some information also found here (http://www.metz.de/en/photo_electronics/empfehlung.142.html) and here (http://www.metz.de/en/photo_electronics/adapter.143.html).

Thank you Jay for the information and links. According to the first link, the 54MZ-4 uses the SCA 3002 Canon 'foot', and states that the 54MZ-3(with the same foot) is compatible. I DO have the correct connecting foot(the SCA 3002 Canon), so hopefully it will be compatible. I'll report back my findings when the flash arrives. Thanks again for your response.
