Which is faster. CF or SDHC?

I am looking at gettng new cards for my Mark III.

In this report it looks like the Sandisk Extrem III 4G SDHC is faster than
Sandisk Extreme III 4G CF card.

Apparently on the 1DM3 the SD cards are faster; on the 1DsMkIII the CF cards are faster.

I have a 1DsMKIII and the CF cards are faster then any SD or SDHC card I have found. With one exception the 1GB ExIII SD card is faster then my Ultra II 2GB CF cards and only a touch slower then my ExIV 8GB CF cards, but 1GB just don't hold enough, so have a couple different 4GB SDHC cards that are fast enough if I sent small jpegs to them, while the raw goes to the CF card.

With that said, I highly doubt you'll be able to notice any difference in any practical application. I'd get the ones that your prefer handling. I personally prefer CF's due to them being easier for me to handle (I do keep an 8GB SDHC in my IIN though). Some say that they prefer handling SDHC's.

Thanks for the tips. I decided to go with the CF's I don't care for the SDHC's the are to small and not as rugged as CF's

CF cards are designed for heavy usage, particularly in the case where they're being pulled in and out frequently. Also, they're more rigid, in comparison to the SD cards which can be bent and damaged easily.

I switched to SDHC cards,, I found the right ones run faster than the Cfs and they cost half as much. There is no speed difference in the 1Ds and 1D Mark IIIs.

I bought Class 6 SDHC 16GB from Transcend $65 at NewEgg. I bought 12 in the last month. Last weekend at the Thunder over Michigan Airshow I gave a buddy 4 8GB 266X cards and told him to keep them.

SDHC has them beat.

I certainly like the speed and price of the SDHC's, I just hate the handling and durability.
