Well, I went up to the Brooklands museum today to try out my new EF 50mm f/1.4. All shots were with the 1D MkII at 1/60th and ISO 640 - all indoors with available light - no flash.

I'd call that a success. Those are beautiful.

I've always loved the open-wheel MGs. There werent a lot of TCs that made it to this country, although there were bunches of TDs. My favorite, though, and the first manual transmission car I ever drove was the TF. I just felt (and still feel) that it was the best of both worlds..somewhat streamlined, but no confusion as to the purpose of the vehicle. A real sports car.

I sure wish I owned one.

I like the shots of the white cars, lol, very nice indeed. I need to get one of those 1.4's in my kit . . . soon.

Thanks guys :)

I was very impressed by this little lens. The ability to shoot in such low light without having to resort to flash was great. Cars never look (as) good when flash is used. You lose all the nice detail in the chrome and bodywork. I was also really impressed by the quality and sharpness of the images. Depth of field of course, is a real issue with such a wide aperture lens...

I bought it on something of a whim, not really sure whether I was going to get much use out of it or not but I think after yesterdays experiences I will use it quite a bit!
