Portfolio Size?

Hi everyone!

I want to make a portfolio of my best shots to take with me.I am going to put them in a nice album.

But my question is, what is the best size for this?

4x6? 5x7?

Anyone have any good suggestions?

Mine is 8 x 10, I just feel it presents details better and isn't bigger always more impressive? :D

A portfolio really needs to be "at least" 9 x 6 - and better if it's 8 x 10, and even bigger if it's fashion or modelling shots

With you saying (typing...whatever) that, TJ you are right. Now that you mention it, all of the models I've shot have put the images into an 11 x 13 portfolio and they carry them in those huge binders with handles. Whatever they are called :D

I just got one of these in 9 1/2" x 12 1/2":

(there is only a pocket on one of the covers, so I put that in the back. The pocketless cover side looks better, IMO)

It's the perfect size for 8x12s with a nice black border, which made me very happy because I didn't want to have to recrop every single image to another aspect ratio. It's on CLEARANCE and it's very nice quality.

I can take some photos of mine with the prints in it, if anyone cares to see it. :)

I have a 24X32" portfolio case. Sometimes I just carry the prints in the 14X19" Costco envelope. ;)

Might sound crazy, but I use my iPhone. It looks great, people are always impressed and its always with me. Now if I were using it to apply for a job or something, that would be a different story.

I've heard the iphone works great especially when you dont' want to be passing around a photo album during the job. But my portfolio is also a 8.5 x 11 album. I also only pos a selection of photos on my website for them to see.

x2 on 9x12... my presentation portfolios are that size although my new book is 11x14... stepped it up...

I had a couple 11x14 books but they were simply too big to carry or ship, so I went back to the smaller size.
