I recently signed up for a EM account but have found that it is very difficult to have any real advertising for my photo business, it is great for the galleries but I would like to provide more info on separate pages. Does anyone know if this is possible and if not is there another program that will host galleries while still allowing the photographer to get the word out

THanks

Some people have a website that automaticly brings up their EM galleries when clicked on. I use Em for selling HS sport photos and it works well. However I also wish they had the ability for text pages. The solution I found is to create a blog and have a link in my header or footer. I have chosen to use Wordpress for a no cost blog and when ready will be adding a link.
Depending on the type of shots you're selling, this may or may not be a solution. If you're shooting weddings, I would go with a pro designed site

Mike thanks for the info, I do mainly portraits and sports, for the sports it will be great for the portraits not so much as I can't really can't do any advertising without additional pages, price list etc.

Your price list should come up next to an image when the shot is clicked on. You need to setup the price sheet with your prices and the products you wish to offer then save it to the galleries you choose. There is also the flexibility to have different price sheets for different shots in the same gallery.

I just created a forum topic about marketing costs for photographers...check it out and leave your thoughts-
I have researched thousands of photography web sites. Some have prices listed with their services and others say contact photographer. Is there a right or wrong way, really? What is boils down to is effectivness. When people call me on my business line, they don't even leave a message, yet they took the time to call. Go figure...
