What is your best/worst excuse for a cancellation?

Hi,
I just moved in Vancouver and I have a brand-new-never-used-studio here.

This is my first week, and I invited 4 MM models to try it. 4 differents day and they all canceled at the last minute. We talked about the shooting for 2 weeks and they pick the day of the shoot, they all confirm their presence the day before.


#1 - 2 hours before - I can do it, a SUV hit me.

#2 - 2 hours before - I cant do it, I must leave the city for 2 weeks for personal affair.

#3 - 2 hours before - I cant do it, I must attend a funeral in Toronto ( 4000 km away), I have to prepare the main speech.

#4 - 2 hours after - Sorry, I cant be there , I have an important meeting. ( Friday 8 pm )



I had some cancellation days before a shoot, but nobody have canceled me at the last minute like that.
4 in a row here in the same week, wow! And the excuses are fantastic !


My model #5 will be there tomorrow if you
knock on wood, cross your fingers and sacrifice a virgin in the volcano!

I generally don't reschedule with any TFCD models I shoot with. If they cancel 48 hours prior, I'll reschedule. If they confirm with me 24 hours prior, and then they cancel, I won't reschedule them at all, and simply look for another model to shoot. Granted, sh*t happens, but sometimes you just gotta know where to draw the line.

I've had the pleasure of shooting some really motivated young ladies, but there are some that are just plain flakes.

My best excuse thus far was they were stuck on the other side of town caught in a drug bust. I almost laughed out loud at that one, but simply said thank you and carried on. the real question is, if they were REALLY busted for drugs, why would they be wasting their one phone call on me? I'd be on the horn with my lawyer or someone who can bail me out, lol.

Sad part is, it could be plausible!

My favorite cancellation excuse... 2 hours before session: "My dog ate a bee and her face is swelling up. I have to rush her to the emergency vet!"
