trying something new, well sort of....(c&c me please )

these shots were taken roughly 2 hours ago, right after i got out of class. happened to have my gear in my car, so i decided to use the opportunity to get in some practice.

here's the first one

i was using a external flash mounted off camera, and bounced off the parking garage ceiling. unfortunately ceiling wasn't white, but a combination of various shades of gray. this lowered the out put of the flash and caused me to have to bump up the iso a bit so that i could extend the range and get some light on the subject. in the future i'll be picking up some umbrella's, and some triggers so that i'll have some freedom to move about and not be "teathered" to the flash. anyways crituque away, and as always, hold no punches.

Not a bad portrait and the lighting looks pretty good. Nicely low key.

But:
- A bit too much headroom
- Feet are cut off
- Flash caught in turn signal of car way in the BG camera left
- There is a "P" growing out of your neck :)

I am new to this but I like what I like.
I like the first, don't like the second, and like the third the best, It is well done.

took another shot at the first one. trying for something a bit more "dynamic". also got rid of the "growing p" lol!

ha ha, yeah. my bud there is still in the core program and just started ford fact. i actually graduated back in may and i'm about to finish ford fact and move on to volvo. are you currently working in the field?
