Kind of sucks...we were just at Arches in July, hiked the Devil's Garden Trail with my son. At least he got to see it before it collapsed.

Yep...heard about that a few days ago. Sucks as we'll be there in late Sept. Looks like they closed part of the loop so no Double O either.

Just noticed 2 central Fl. guys talking about something across the US :).

As a natural geologic feature it was only a matter of time, right?
Just didn't think it would happen in our time.


I hope they do NOT do something ignorant like trying to rebuild the arch.

Very cool, a once in many lifetimes event. Too bad nobody saw or photographed it, I bet it was loud. :)

It is a shame. I suspect the trail will be re-opened as soon as they can clean up the debris. In the meantime, it seems the primitive trail would get you to Double O, or am I forgetting something? (That happens.)
