I can't remember the name of it right off the top of my head, but it doesn't seem that my DReb came with it. Can I download it off Canon's site?
Thanks

Digital Photo Professional. Yes: here (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct&fcategoryid=301).

hmmm...that link you pointed me to only allows me to download the DPP updater (at least that's all I could find). I can't find the full version of DPP. I even just installed the majority of the programs that came with the camera (the CD that isn't PSE). And, I don't see DPP. What I am missing?

You have "File Viewer Utility" on the CD that came with your DRebel. If you install that on your computer you can then download and utilize the DPP updater.

Does this DPP software do a good conversion job? How does it compare with the built-in ps camera raw converter?

I've tried the converter in PS CS, DPP, Breezebrowser and C1. C1 wins hands down in my books. As I have a registered copy of BB I still use that for viewing after downloading the images as it is amazingly quick.
The converter in PS does work ok, it is really a matter of personal preferences.

What does C1 offer that DPP doesn't?

I have Capture One LE v3.6 and also Digital Photo Professional 1.5 (and also Photoshop CS). All three give good results, but I prefer DPP.
FlipsidE, you can download a trial version of Capture One and see for yourself if you think it's worth the money. I don't think there's a huge difference in quality in the results. Some people find Capture One easier or faster to use than DPP. But Capture One LE costs more than $100 and DPP costs $0.
So try it out and see for yourself what you prefer.
