First shoot with my new Genesis 200's

I had my first shoot yesterday, since getting my new lights, and I love them!
I had no issues at all with them. Here is one of the shots, more to come.

I got the same recently. I was hoping if you could tell me how to set the power settings. I thought each stop is equal to 10 units on the digital display and I read that I am mistaken. Your input will be really great

Nice job on the photo, Chris. I hope you find the Genesis lights as reliable and great to use as I have so far. Nice white background ... no blown highlights ... and a great faded reflection below. I like it!

Hey Bug: I thought we'd get 1/10th f-stop increments with those digital settings as well, but my tests showed otherwise ... so you can eventually get a pretty good feel for how many clicks to move them up or down after you've used 'em a while, but unless you use a light meter or get good at "chimping" (reviewing shots on your camera LCD) you should think of those LED settings as near-accurate at best. A while back I posted a graph of the output/settings I was getting on my lights. Looks pretty good Chris.

I'm seeing some darker patches on the lower right side of the frame that appear to either be areas you've cleaned up and perhaps overlooked or, some sort of odd shadows that made it into the image. I am viewing on a calibrated monitor and something about it doesn't look right.

For my taste (and please take this in the spirit intended) the pose looks rather awkward. The lighting on the dress looks great but it pulls my eyes away from the face and eyes and eyes are everything unless your specifically modeling the clothes. There seems to be less light falling on her face than on the dress, legs and shoes. My final comment is about her right arm. We can see a hint of shoulder but her entire right arm and hand are MIA.

I think 24mm is a little to wide for full body shot, do you have a space to step back
and shot like at 50mm of maybe 70mm?
Also, at what lever did you hold the camera?
It looks you had a little lower than it should be, maybe you can try to keep it at eye level?

Please tell us what doe you have on the floor to have such nice reflection.

I shoot tons of full length using 22-26mm and find it to be just fine on a 1.5x crop body. It's all about the camera orientation and carefully analyzing your subject's features.

In my space it's simply impossible to get more than a 2/3 shot with a 50mm lens and have no issue at all with my full length in s ~20-30mm range.

I used three lights. Two on the background, and one on the model with a reflector on the opposite side.

If I am not mistaken, I think it is 5 clicks to 1 stop.

Robert, I don't mind at all. I noticed the dark spots on the right, but I was too anxious to get these posted to fix it. :rolleyes:
I have since fixed those spots.
I should have raised my big softbox a little, to get more light on her face.
I liked the pose myself, I guess it is just personal taste.
