I was wondering if theres an easy way to fix barrel distortion ? I noticed it with my Rebel's kit lens at WA and it's sorta annoying :\
Thanks

Photoshop can do anything, the question is how as it's not a simple beast to drive. I'd personally google something like "photoshop fix barrel distortion" and see what it came up with. Hopefully someone else around here can help you more, but that might start you off.

Fixing barrel distortion is pretty important to panoramics and a few pano-stitching programs will do it. My understanding is that Panorama Tools will do it, but it's not so easy to use so a front end like Max Lyons' PTAssembler makes things a lot easier. Check here: http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/ and his forums are here http://www.tawbaware.com/forum2. You might be able to get help from people there - they're a good bunch.

I'm not positive about this but I actually think that you can build a database with your lenses. Kinda like profiling the lens. Once you do so it's just a matter of running each image through the program and it gets fixed.

PTLens, http://www.epaperpress.com/ptlens/index.html

A free PS plug in, works with CS or Elements, also available in stand alone.

Very extensive lens database, and you can add your own through simple tests if not already on the list.

Thatnks Bruce. I actually ran across this when researching panos, but I had NO idea of the name. This is going into the toolbox before I forget again. Thanks.

No problem. I share your passion for poutine.

As we say in Franglais, you take the fries and you putin what you want........

My favourite is spaghetti meat sauce and cheese.

Gross to look at and bizarre to the uninitiated, but oh so tasty.

So that's how they got the word... :-)

Chili and cheese was always one of my favorite ways to eat fries. But Poutine is up there.
