I have taken approx 6000 shots with my digital rebel and turned the thing on this morning and the normal EOS showed on the screen then C 6C Showed up. I had to push the shutter release half way down to get it off of the screen. The camera is still taking fine photos. I dont think i am having any mechanical problems but wanted to know if anyone else was seeing or had ever seen this reading.
Thanks

I'm sure many do read here but this question may be better in the EOS forum as it is more active :)
Not sure what that means, I have not seen it on my 10D or my friends rebel.

I have a DRebel with 2000 shots (aprox). I haven't seen that message yet.

THanks to all for the replies. I guess it is not a problem? Should i call canon and inquire or not worry about it?

I had the same problem just today. After starting it several times the screen displayed a date/time set window. It showed all zeros so I set the date and time and turned it off. When I turned it on again it did not display the C-6C. I guess that is what the message meant. It may also mean that the button cell needs replacing. Yes indeed! I checked the manual and on page 32 is the obscure fact that C-6C means just that. Problem solved.
