I'd like serious criticism on how I could improve this photo.

CAMELOT!!! Camelot!! Camelot!!!!! Camelot!
Meh, it's only a model.
Sorry, Monty Python reference.
How to improve the photo? Why, you need to take two shots, one for appropriate exposure of the foreground and the other for the background, then combine in PS.
However, I think that houses that I can see in the foreground are not a really interesting subject... perhaps a wider angle?

I like to call it Camelot here because it retains the privacy of this place and also in so many ways it matches that song; it usually rains at night, winters are short and mild, etc., etc. It's the nicest place, weatherwise, that I've ever lived.
Anyway I used the fill-flash function on Jasc PSP to brighten the dark foreground, and also have another photo with a somewhat different view where I again brightened the dark foreground. Any other criticisms? I think it was a beautiful sunset myself.

I like the shot - very dramatic colors and forms. The utility poles on the left distract. Might be worth cloning them out. It looks like a grad filter would have helped bringing the foreground out. I don't know if the post-processing equivalent filters work as well. If there is interesting foreground material, it might have been a better shot if you could have shown more detail there, otherwise a black silhouette with no detail at all probably would be the best.

I think i'd probably blacken out the foreground, it takes my attention away from the main interesting of the shot, IMHO.

I tend to agree that the foreground should be darkened; here are my latest changes. I didn't clone out the pole at upper left as it would take more time to deal with the electrical wires and I have other photos to choose from that don't have the pole.
Thanks to everybody for giving your opinions. :)
