I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I joined a few days ago so it's time I said Hello. This seems like a great place and I'm glad I found it.

I've ordered the EOS 20D with the kits lens and a CF card. I've been using a EOS 300V and a Ixus V3.2 for just over 2 years. I've just sold the Ixus to a friend at work as I never used it. I prefered the more control I had with the EOS.

I've only been serious about photography when I got the EOS. Before that I had a Kodak APS point and shoot and I knew nothing about shutter speed, aperture or depth of field. I took a lot of photos with the Kodak on my holidays to England and Brazil and of my home town. I've set up a Pbase account and will upload my photos when I get them scanned in.

Blackbird.

Ooh, cool! A Flash avatar. It's been a while since I've seen the likeness of Flash around.

Welcome, Blackbird. (Hmmm, is there a story behind the handle and the avatar?) :D

HI! I'm pretty new here too. And, I just got my 20D the other day. It's taking me a while, but I'm learning the camera. Seems like I need to make every possible mistake at least once. For one thing, this is the first SLR I've had with digital readouts. My previous SLR had an analog meter with a swinging needle indicator in the viewfinder. I'm adjusting!
