I was at my best mate Wedding last friday to which i took my 40D & 50mm F1.8 & 17-40 F4L.

Now a pal of mine also brought his camera aswell, so decided to try it out on a few shots so can you guess which camera these shots were taking with, you proberly be suprised.

Let put it this way they look better & sharper than the ones i took with the 40D no matter what i do in PP i can't get them as good as this. :o

So here they are all pics have been crop in some way or other.

An XT or something?

It's not the camera (thou certainly it can make a difference) it's the a) person using the camera b) the lens on the camera. I love the third one, the processing makes it so retro looking.

Actually i shot these using my mate Olympus E-520, FL-50 Flash, & 12-60mm SWD lens in RAW & im actually suprised how good this little DSLR is never really considered 4/3 camera's, but he swears by them can see what he means now.

The 12-60mm lens it a top quality bit of glass pro line i think, which proberly help alot to.

My 40D with both the 50mm F1.8 & 17-40mm out of the 200pics i shot in RAW " quality wise" are nowere near as good as these few shots i took with the E-520

All i did to these shots was sharpen abit nothing more.

My 40D shots i tried sharping, adding contrast adding abit more saturation but still look soft, lifeless & flat in comparsion.

Begining to wonder if there something wrong with my 40D.

The Olympus system is nothing to sneeze at. You should get equal results from your 40D, though; why not post a few of your examples?

I agree with THE HOFF (hehe) post some examples and include your exif (or at least leave it attached to the image so we can sneak a peek) and perhaps we can help. i personally love the 50mm on the 40D, it is sexy and super sharp.
