take these with a grain of salt as I shot with a 100-400 at night and as anyone knows the lens actually laughs at you when you point it to the field.

(5) This was hauled in by Ruvell Martin. Used the selective color and blur to try to get it to pop more otherwise it just kinda blended into the background

wow that lens actually did quite well!
I like them all. I am assuming these were shot on the field?

Hey, you actually captured the catch-helmet-smash! WOW! Looks like you shot from an elevated position, like the front row. I'm curious. Where? Settings?

I started the game at ISO 800 and tried to keep the shutter speeds around 1/500. Would obviously liked to have been higher, as 1/500 doesn't freeze hands and feet many times. From there I moved up a couple stops and well before halftime was at ISO 1600.

Agreed. These are very good especially considering you're in the stands with a lens not suited for night shots.

I was wondering where that laughing was coming from over the TV....
agree with everyone else, nice job for the conditions. #5 would make a pretty cool wall hog with the background cutout like that (wallhog is like fathead for those that dont know).

Very nicely done! Couldn't agree more about the 100-400 and it's light needs, but you did a great job with these. I never brought my gear to any games at Lambeau for fear they wouldn't let me in with "pro" style gear. Good to know they're ok with it!

Really nice set of pics. The fact that you were using the 100-400 makes them all the more amazing.

I was at that game as well, but didn't bring the gear. We were 11 rows up on the 50 yard line. I am kicking myself for not bringing it.
Fun game tho, even tho they choked.
Nice shots! The place went nuts when he lost his helment too!!

You'd think those would be great seats for pics. I shot the Bears Monday night game last year from pretty close to that spot and it's not good at all for pics. Everything is in the way. Players that stand on the edge of the field, the 1st down markers, the kicker's practice net, the camera guy zipping back and forth on the sidelines in his cherry picker thing. I got the seats and was like "yes perfect".. lol not so much

Wow, I never knew the 100-400 could ever survive night time games.
Very nice.

Curious - No hassle w/your lense(s), camera case/bag, etc? According to the Packers web site it states:
"Weapons, bags, backpacks, coolers, umbrellas, duffel bags, large purses, fanny packs, obstructive banners and signs are all strictly prohibited, as are food & beverages, video cameras and still photo cameras with lenses over 12 inches. As a general rule, please leave all unnecessary items at home."
Have you ever been prevented from using your equipment?
Love your photos!

They have never stopped me with my gear or even questioned it. I have shot quite a few games at Lambeau. I'm pretty sure the 100-400 is only like 7 inches or something like that when it's not extended and 10ish extended.
