Did anyone hear about this?
I am looking for a new laptop and heard rumors about a new Macbook Pro coming out, so I was going to wait until I saw this today.

It's suppose to be a laptop aimed at photographers.. the specs looks a lot better than the Macbook pro. But unfortunately it runs windows vista.
Would anyone get this over a Macbook pro?

I saw the announcement and went to look at the specs on Lenovo - I believe it was downgradeable to XP with a XP recovery disc available from Lenovo. But did y ou see the price? EGADS! Over $2,900 and that was before adding in all the kewl callibration and tablet features.

I would get it over a MBP AND I would run Vista!

Vista isn't bad. Infact its great. I was hesitant to spend the money on vista. but Ive got 64bit vista going and I've had 0 problems.
no kidding, I haven't got a blue screen of death or anything. It runs so smooth. So if you are worried that it runs vista. all the the kinks have been ironed out.

I have no issues with Vista but get as much ram as that laptop can handle. LR and PS get a bit slow when messing with big files.

Fair enough Stephen. I found I had more problems with XP then Vista. But I guess it probably comes down to what hardware you used and what the drivers were like at the time...

Vista is a dog! I have had it since it was beta and even now it freezes over and over. I have it on a Sony Vaio VGN-AR370 with Dual-Core T7250 processor and 2GB RAM. I hate this operating system with a passion. Windows XP is the most stable operating system Microsoft has ever produced. They should have took XP and added some new features maybe and stopped with that. Vista is very resource intensive with all its eye candy and extrras. Infact the whole OS is bloated! I have the Vista Aero and Gadgets turned off along with any of the extras that came with it and I continually experience freezing to the point I have to restart. If the next OS Microsoft pushes out is as bad as Vista then I rather not have it. If Vista is so great why does Microsoft keep expanding the support and end date for XP.

support for XP is the same as it has been for all of their OS. They have not extended the end date for XP it came and went. are you 100% sure all your issues are because of vista and not something else? Did you buy your VAIO with Vista or install it? Of course it's more resource intensive it's newer. I definitely think they can optimize the code but every software app I've seen gets more resource intensive with each version...
